Outlander the series is coming this summer...

I was never much of a book reader in school... high school... or even in my early adult years.  My sister always had a book in her hand.  One day she introduced me to a book that had a character named Fraser.  I was totally into my husband's Scottish Heritage at the time and thought this sounded good.  I'm in my 40's by this time... and Diana's 900+ pages of Outlander reeled me into the life and times of Jamie and Claire.  For my first completely read book... 900+ pages was pretty good.
So for those not knowing of Outlander... it's the story of a WWII nurse... Claire Randal... and her historian husband in 1945... on a Scottish Holiday.  Claire happens to walk through some standing stones and falls through time to 1743 Scotland and gets involved with the Clan McKenzie of Leoch... unintentionally.  As it turns out... to save her live from her 1945 husband's 1743 ancestor... Black Jack Randall... she has to marry a young Scottish outlaw.... Jamie Fraser.... James Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Fraser to be exact.   It's a wonderful romp through life and times and battle.  Diana takes you there right along with Claire with her details.
After 20 years in book... Outlander is coming to Starz Channel this summer and we are all looking forward to it.
This is the actor playing Jamie...  Sam Heughan (sp).
To celebrate the premier... Outlander Kitchen... http://outlanderkitchen.com/2012/07/16/the-great-cherry-bounce-experiment/#comment-4178 is sharing a recipe of Cherry Bounce which is a special drink throughout the book.   I'm planning to make some this week... give it 3 weeks for maturing and we (the girls and I) will be toasting the premier.. Jamie... Claire... and being together.

It's Spring 2014... I've had some life changes this past winter... I retired from 29 years of working for the same company.  This past Dec, my BFF and I both worked for the same company decided to retire... we had our last day on an early Friday in Dec and on Saturday we were entries in my town's Lighted Farm Implement Parade with my Vintage 1959 Aloha travel trailer.
We were decked out in Pink... Lillie was decked out in lights and tinsel... the little generater was humming and we got a 3rd place for our bracket... Vintage Cars & Trucks pre 1950.
A few weeks later... She and I headed up to an Antique Store and Retro Diner for lunch and shopping...

We had a blast and a good lunch.
I found some Paint by Numbers that will be part of some future jewelry...

That's all for now... :) Suzy
