Outlander the series is coming this summer...

I was never much of a book reader in school... high school... or even in my early adult years.  My sister always had a book in her hand.  One day she introduced me to a book that had a character named Fraser.  I was totally into my husband's Scottish Heritage at the time and thought this sounded good.  I'm in my 40's by this time... and Diana's 900+ pages of Outlander reeled me into the life and times of Jamie and Claire.  For my first completely read book... 900+ pages was pretty good.
So for those not knowing of Outlander... it's the story of a WWII nurse... Claire Randal... and her historian husband in 1945... on a Scottish Holiday.  Claire happens to walk through some standing stones and falls through time to 1743 Scotland and gets involved with the Clan McKenzie of Leoch... unintentionally.  As it turns out... to save her live from her 1945 husband's 1743 ancestor... Black Jack Randall... she has to marry a young Scottish outlaw.... Jamie Fraser.... James Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Fraser to be exact.   It's a wonderful romp through life and times and battle.  Diana takes you there right along with Claire with her details.
After 20 years in book... Outlander is coming to Starz Channel this summer and we are all looking forward to it.
This is the actor playing Jamie...  Sam Heughan (sp).
To celebrate the premier... Outlander Kitchen... http://outlanderkitchen.com/2012/07/16/the-great-cherry-bounce-experiment/#comment-4178 is sharing a recipe of Cherry Bounce which is a special drink throughout the book.   I'm planning to make some this week... give it 3 weeks for maturing and we (the girls and I) will be toasting the premier.. Jamie... Claire... and being together.

It's Spring 2014... I've had some life changes this past winter... I retired from 29 years of working for the same company.  This past Dec, my BFF and I both worked for the same company decided to retire... we had our last day on an early Friday in Dec and on Saturday we were entries in my town's Lighted Farm Implement Parade with my Vintage 1959 Aloha travel trailer.
We were decked out in Pink... Lillie was decked out in lights and tinsel... the little generater was humming and we got a 3rd place for our bracket... Vintage Cars & Trucks pre 1950.
A few weeks later... She and I headed up to an Antique Store and Retro Diner for lunch and shopping...

We had a blast and a good lunch.
I found some Paint by Numbers that will be part of some future jewelry...

That's all for now... :) Suzy

It's now 2013, we survived the apocolypse.  :)   I hope this year is full of fun adventures, good health and success.
I plan to start a new Blog with pictures of Vintage Travel Trailers I've taken pictures of in my travels both local and afar.   In my search for my Aloha I drove the backroads from here to there and found loads of sad little and big trailers sitting in lots, pastures or yards.  I've also found several in excellent condition as well.   So look for my new blog.
I started out this year with my Grandsons.  We celebrated First Night with the theme of Out of this World... Aliens.   The boys got to make crafts, watch performances and have lots of fun.  We ate dinner at a Sushi Bar in the mall.   It was a fun way to open up the new year.
I also returned the family cat back to Spokane.  He was used to another cat, a dog and a closed yard and small neighborhood to rule.  I bored him.   His personality and mine did not mix well for living with perminantly.  So he's back over there, given to a good friend who was upset that he was given to me.... she wanted him.   So now she has him, he has 2 dogs to play with and he's settling in nicely.  I've got my house back.... he did get a bit bossy and was a brat if I didn't give in to his bullying.  :)   I still love him.... just from afar.   Ha. :)
Next is my 3rd Grandson's 1st Birthday.... on the 9th.  I know... this post is on the 11th... but we are celebrating his birthday this coming weekend.   The weather here warmed up into the mid to high 40's and melted all our snow.  Now it has dropped back down into the low 30's.  I hope they've lost their snow.
I've also got a few of my weekend adventures planned out, work vacation days requested off and have invited my adventure companions.  Antiquing.    Glamping.   Beach Castle Building. Kite Flying. just to name a few.
Let the Adventures Begin.

Well... It's December.
Grape Harvest in the Valley was average... we filled out Large Holding Tanks and drummed some as well.
In November, I took my Mother and Sister for a day's adventure.   We drove 2 hrs up/over to Cashmere to a Retro Diner and HUGE Antique Mall.   We drove out in the morning and hit snow for most of the drive.   Large flakes gently floating to the ground.
At the Antique Mall... I found some Farm Girl/Glamping Attire... A pair of Vintage pearly earings & pin set, and a second set of pearly earings... so cool.
I also picked up a Pink Washington Souvenier felt pennant banner for the Aloha and a Vintage Luggable Loo (enamalware).   I was happy to find the pink peticoat in my size too.    So much fun.
While surfing the net... I found several pics apply to my thought process...
If you don't recognise the logo... it's from Dr. Who.   But the "Pretend it's a Plan"  is soooo Me.

And this is SO MUCH Phoenix... the family cat.
:) Happy December  :) Suzy

Yesterday was my Birthday... I spent a quiet day... well as quiet as it could be with two little grandsons visiting.  I started out my day by joining my sister and Mom at a Shabby Antique show... Bloomerang.  It is JUST the sort of place we want to sell out of our Bunkhouse Boutique Glamping Booth at.  We left our name & phone number, they are planning one for next year too.   The shortly after lunch, my daughter and her to adorable little boys joined me for the afternoon.   We had a lot of fun.
I may have spent a quiet birthday yesterday, BUT I was totally blown away suprized by a suprize birthday party last weekend.  My BFF and I joined my Mom & Sis at another Farmer's Market up the valley mid morning, scouted around and had lunch in a Pizza Bar & Restaurant.  Then we headed back to town and stopped at the Christian Thrift Shop here in town, which is a nice little shop.   My friend and I headed to my housed.  There was no evidence of anyone around, but my two kids, the grandkids, my friends and family suprized me with a party.  It was a full afternoon of celebration.

I recieved a basket full of Glamper things for the SSLillie, a string of Flamingo lights and a jar that people put money into for me to spend on the Aloha.  I have plans for an awning from Marti's Awnings.  I got one for the 90 Okanagan MH.  A very nice weekend... not what I had planned at all for the rest of the day.   A pleasant way to spend it with friends and family.
